Why I’m Running

I love Banff. I love the mountains, the community, and the sense of possibility here. But if we want to remain a thriving town, we need to look ahead and make deliberate choices about the future.

I’m a deep thinker who enjoys research, planning, and policy — but I’m also a listener who knows that the best solutions come from the community itself. As councillor, I will bring balance, creativity, and fiscal responsibility to every decision.

Banff’s challenges are complex, but together, we can keep this place an incredible home for all of us.

Banff is a complex place. Housing, affordability, tourism, and climate change don’t come with simple answers. That’s why I’m running for Town Council, because Banff needs thoughtful leadership that looks beyond quick fixes and focuses on the goals that will shape our future.

I believe in pursuing goals, not just reacting to problems. We move toward what we focus on, and for me that means keeping Banff livable, affordable, and sustainable for the long term.

My Experience

For more than 20 years, I’ve served in leadership and governance roles locally, nationally, and internationally. I bring hands-on experience in housing, fiscal management, and community planning:

Banff Housing Corporation

(Chair 2018–2022): Actively involved in creating affordable housing solutions for residents.

Banff Community Plan Advisory Committee

(Chair 2023–2024): Guided the vision for Banff’s long-term growth and sustainability.

Governance Leadership

Served on the national executive of the United Church of Canada and the global executive of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, overseeing budgets from tens of thousands to tens of millions.

Local Community Boards

Vice-Chair of Banff Public Library, Treasurer of Banff Pride, long-time board member with Rundle Memorial United Church (now part of Ralph Connor Memorial).

These roles taught me how to listen carefully, synthesize diverse perspectives, and make decisions for the good of the whole community.

Join me in building a
future-focused Banff.
